A week in the life

Another day, another $.50. Hm, that doesn't sound right.
Anyway, it's Thursday yet again, and I am recovering from my first workout in weeks and a delicious but extremely filling dessert. (recipe to follow) Seriously, I ate too much of that dessert and I am feeling a little yucky. When will I learn? Maybe never.
But, I am proud of my workout this evening. I bitched on the Obesityhelp.com message board that I had no time to exercise because of working so much, and I got a lot of good ideas on how to squeeze some in through the day. So, when I got home and I was sitting on my ass, I decided that it's not cool to bitch if you aren't going to be proactive about it. So, I got up and did a workout. Now I am exhausted. But, at least it's for a good reason.
I had a little eating slip this past weekend, but I didn't think it was so bad, until the scale showed a 2.5 lb weight gain today. I know I'm holding on to some water, but HUH?? I hate this, because for some reason, when I see a gain, I want to eat. My reaction is "if you are going to gain, you might as well make it worth it." Crazy, I know. So, I have to fight that urge and continue going in the direction I know is right.
I have been having some serious baby-lust lately. I know we want to have another baby, but I wanted to be under 200 before getting pregnant again. That's still 40+ lbs away! I feel like that's going to take forever! But, I want to get as low as possible, to make it easier and healthier. Plus, that's 9 months of no weight "loss" (per se) and I've heard it's much harder to lose a larger amount of weight after a baby. Although, in my first pregnancy, I gained about 30 lbs in my first trimester, and proceeded to lose 15 throughout the second and third trimesters. So, it is possible to gain just a small amount. I'm living proof of that! I was shocked to learn my co-worker, who is a skinny, tall girl, gained 70+ lbs during her pregnancy! Woh!!
Ok, I am feeling a little rambly and tired, so I am calling it a night. The good thing about this coming week is it's spring break for UNH, so instead of working 12 hour days, it will be down to only 8! Woohoo! It's practically a vacation!
Speaking of vacations: My goal for this weekend is to finish our taxes and buy plane tix to Seattle for May. We're comin' Brudder! :-)

  1. I have that problem as well. In the past while dieting, if I screwed up or gained weight it would set me binging! It's a horrible, vicious cycle to get into.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for that last 40lbs for you so that you guys can have another little one!!
