My first full day, back on track

I am very proud of myself today. I did many of the things I feel are important to getting back on track and continuing to lose weight. I avoided all sugar today. I had no "bad" (read - bread based) carbs. (I did have some "carbs" that are found in milk)I eat lots and lots of protein. And, I am currently working on drinking 64 oz of non milk based liquid.
There was a period in the middle of the day where I REALLY wanted some chocolate. I had just had a stressful conversation with the hubs, and I had already eaten lunch. It's prime time for some sugary snacking. I acknowledged I wanted some, but knew I wasn't going to do it. I reminded myself I was not hungry, and I moved on. Impressive!
At the grocery store, I totally by-passed the discount candy, which is huge, because I have a hard time passing up a sale. Sales are great excuses to have junk in the house I shouldn't be eating. Anyway, I passed that only to be confronted by my next candy problem. Easter candy. Yes, I am an Easter candy addict. I can't get enough of the cadbury creme eggs, or mini eggs. This time of year is deadly. But, I will be strong! I WILL prevail! SCREW YOU CADBURY!
It's ok. I'm fine.
Anyway, I wanted to extol my own greatness today. I deserve a pedicure, or maybe a facial. Hm. A girl can dream.

  1. I'm so proud of you, Kel! What a good day! Hmm... maybe we could get a barista to let us experiment with various teas and syrups to see if we can find one that is good without the milk. A tasting experiment! That one guy in Branford is always really nice...

  2. Sorbees has a sugar free chocolate syrup that isn't too bad. When I was doing Weight Watchers (and it should be something ok for 7 months out), I used to take 2 fat free chocolate wafers and fat free Cool Whip, make a sandwhich out of it, and put it in the freezer. Whenever I would have an ice cream or chocolate craving, I would grab one..... it tasted close enough to an ice cream sandwhich that it really did the trick!!

Congrats for getting back on track!

  3. BTW.... the "screw you Cadbury" almost made me spit my juice on my computer screen. At least it only would have been a sip! LOL
